CHALLENGE
Oftentimes, companies with several locations or dealer and
distributor reseller channels have a hard time controlling printing
and marketing costs. A high-end laminate flooring manufacturing
company came to us because they were often updating their
product marketing and installation materials. This resulted in an
obsolete inventory that just got thrown away and the delay in
printing new materials caused the resellers to make their own
product literature just to keep up with their own marketing efforts.
Logos were being used incorrectly and brochures were being
printed in the wrong colors and at a lower quality than what the
manufacturer wanted their brand to represent.
SOLUTION
To provide an easy way for this company's resellers to order
marketing, installation and warranty materials, we provided them
with a Web to Print online ordering solution that allowed
login access for them to order what they needed 24/7
from an online catalog. Most of the items on the site were
set up as templates that provided each reseller with the
ability to customize the requested materials with their
local contact information. This allowed the corporate
office to keep updated materials on the site at all times,
to ensure that everyone was representing the company
consistently. All the reseller had to do was select an item, enter their contact information, choose a shipping
address and cost center from the preset drop-down menus and we printed and shipped the items directly to
them. The cost center feature allowed the corporate office to keep track of orders from each of their reseller
locations. Some materials on the site, such as forms and other simple text-based documents, were simple
PDF files that the resellers could download and print themselves. Because most of the items in the flooring
company's site were printed digitally on-demand, we were able to help them set standard quantities for
their resellers to order. This helped minimize waste
and reduce costs.
RESULTS
All of the company's resellers commented on
how easy the system was to learn and use. They
appreciated the convenience of being able to get
what they needed quickly and cost-effectively. It
helped them represent the company and its products
well so they could focus on closing sales. The flooring
manufacturer was able to generate real-time reports
